VP Osinbajo says school feeding, Nigeria’s investment
The Vice
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has said that
the home grown school feeding programme is an investment for Nigeria.
According to
him, the country considers the programme an important move to solve the
education and health challenge of the children.
The VP sated
this on his twitter handle @profOsinbaji where he accknowleged the mistakes
made in the previous training.
“Nutrition
is important to our Education and Health challenges in Nigeria. We consider the
National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme an investment and a credible
driver for development protection.”
“Nigeria
learnt well from her previous attempt at home grown school feeding in 2004.
With political will, insistence on multi-sector approach and engagement,
strategic partnerships, complimentary interventions, we started what is now a
globally acclaimed school feeding programme.”
